STAMFORD BALLOON PARADE
The 2026 Mutual Aid Deployment on November 23 for the Stamford Balloon Parade was an extraordinary success. This year, 15 Wilton CERT members were deployed—triple the number from 2024—making it one of the largest CERT deployments in Connecticut history. An estimated 150,000 spectators filled the streets to kick off the holiday season, enjoying the massive balloons, festive energy, and the highly anticipated appearance of Santa.
Wilton CERT volunteers played critical operational and safety roles throughout the event. Team members served as Follow Me Managers, Crosswalk Leaders, and Santa Security, ensuring crowd movement was smooth, intersections remained safe, and Santa’s arrival went off without a hitch. Their professionalism, teamwork, and calm presence contributed meaningfully to the overall success of the parade and to the safety of every spectator.
The event showcased not only the strength and capability of the Wilton CERT team, but also the value of regional collaboration and preparedness in supporting large-scale community events.
