Unplanned Deployments

Wilton CERT is often activated by the Town of Wilton's Emergency Management Director to respond to emergencies in the Town of Wilton, to help assist the police and fire departments for incidents such as structure fires, motor vehicle accidents and road closures due to downed trees and wires. Typically in these types of incidents, CERT members will establish detours around the incidents and help safely direct both pedestrians and motorists around the incident.

Wilton CERT may also be called upon to assist in search and rescue efforts as well as setting up and staffing the town's emergency shelter.

Members of Wilton CERT also serve in the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during long term incidents to assist with planning and communications to the town residents as well as the State of CT.
