WATERBURY, CT WATER DISTRIBUTION
On the afternoon of December 15, 2025, the Region 1 EMD approached Wilton CERT with a request for Mutual Aid for the Town of Waterbury, CT to help with bottled water distribution at 9am the following morning (12/16/2025). Waterbury had experience a significant water main break and 60% of the town was with out water. Using our Everbridge Call Out system in a manner never used before, we rapidly gathered 7 CERT volunteers to respond to the call for Mutual Aid.
Our CERT volunteers reported to Waterbury's Crosby High School around 8:30am (over an hour away from Wilton). It was one of those perfect blue sky, cold New England winter days and the lines for water were already forming. Our intrepid team spent the next 4 hours lifting heavy water cases into the backs of waiting Waterbury citizen's cars. They volunteered with smiling faces and a dedication to serve.
