Disaster can strike anywhere or anytime, and basic safety and disaster skills can mean the difference between life and death.  The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program helps train and equip citizens to be prepared to help themselves and their neighbors in the event of a disaster, crisis or common emergency.

In a major disaster, first responders who provide fire and medical services may not be able to meet the demand for these services. Factors such as number of victims, communication failures, and road blockages will prevent people from accessing emergency services that they have come to expect at a moment's notice through 911.   That's where Wilton CERT comes in!
