Disaster Preparedness Training
Wilton CERT offers FREE annual Disaster Preparedness Training. Citizens are invited to become trained to help family, friends and neighbors in the event of an emergency or disaster. CERT instructors, certified by the Connecticut Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security along with other instructors from Police, Fire and EMS, assist in the training. The initial training is conducted over 20 hours and includes:
*Disaster Preparedness *Disaster Medical Operations *CERT Organization *Fire Safety *Search and Rescue *Disaster Psychology *Terrorism
Upon completion interested participants may become members of Wilton CERT.
Our next Disaster Preparedness Training will be held during the month of February, 2021 and will be held virtually via Zoom. The schedule will be as follows:
Unit 1 - Welcome/Disaster Preparedness Tuesday, Feb 2nd 7pm - 9pm
Units 1 & 2 - Disaster Prep/CERT Organization Thursday, Feb 4th 7pm - 9pm
Unit 3 - Disaster Medical Operations 1 Tuesday, Feb 9th 7pm - 9pm Presented by the Wilton Volunteer Ambulance Corps
Units 3 & 4 - Med Ops 1 / Medical Operations 2 Thursday, Feb 11th 7pm - 9pm Presented by the Wilton Volunteer Ambulance Corps
Unit 6 - Fire Safety Thursday, Feb 16th 7pm - 9pm Presented by the Wilton Fire Department
Units 6 & 7 - Fire Safety/Light Search & Rescue Tuesday, Feb 18th 7pm - 9pm Presented by the Wilton Fire Department
Units 8 & 5 - Terrorism/Disaster Psychology Tuesday, Feb 23rd 7pm - 9pm Presented by the Wilton Police Department and Bonnie Rumilly, LCSW
Unit 9 - Animals/Review/Exam Thursday, Feb 25th 7pm - 9pm
